SOUTH COAST BLAZE ANNOUNCES 2021 CLUB AWARDS

SOUTH COAST BLAZE ANNOUNCES 2021 CLUB AWARDS

Our IMB South Coast Blaze end-of-year presentation and awards night was held online this year due to Covid interruptions. We presented awards to players of our U23s and Opens teams, as well as our club awards, including Rookie of the Year, the Michele Harvey Club Person of the Year Award and a new award, the Francine J Dessaix Blaze Spirit Award.

The awards recognise South Coast Blaze players and members for their dedication, effort, performance and overall contribution to the team over the past season.

Congratulations to the following #OurBlaze players and members!

Kristina Brice, sponsored by Irecon Insurance Services, received the IMB Bank Opens Coaches Award.

This award recognises an Opens player that has demonstrated a high level of commitment, leadership, growth, bravery or overcome adversity and contributed to the team and Blaze throughout the season.

Tegan Holland, sponsored by Irecon Insurance Services, received the Opens Players’ Player Award – The McFadden Medal.

The award has been named The McFadden Medal in honour of #OurBlaze player Abbey McFadden’s mother, Maleea, who sadly passed away this year. This award is given to an Opens player chosen by their team members as contributing the most to the IMB South Coast Blaze Opens team throughout the season both on and off the court.

Sharnee Behr received the Cleary Bros U23s Coaches Award.

This award recognises an U23s player that has demonstrated a high level of commitment, leadership, growth, bravery or overcome adversity and contributed to the team and Blaze throughout the season.

This award, named in honour of Neri’s mum Francine who passed away from cancer this year, is presented to a Blaze member who has been deemed above all others to embody the zeal, passion and spirit synonymous with the Blaze family throughout the season.

Our Chairperson Karina Franke received this year’s Michele Harvey Club Person of the Year Award.
