“My first 30 days” – a story from our 23 & Under athletes
South Coast Blaze has been lucky enough to welcome new wonderful talent to our 23 & Under team in 2026. With the season beginning shortly, we decided to ask our new recruits what they felt about their first 30 days.

“Thrilling” ❤️🔥 is how I would describe my first 30 days at Blaze.
Honestly, it’s been so special. Pulling on my first ever premier league uniform in the red colours made me feel like my super excited 8-year-old self, walking onto a netball court for the very first time.
The best part for me are the people. I’ve never been part of such a welcoming club — the friendships, the laughs in between yo-yo test beeps, and the support in every single session have made me feel like I’ve been here forever.
I’ve already be challenged so much as a player, and I’ve felt supported every step of the way. Surfing together for team bonding gave us many laughs (and a few wipeouts) — and seeing the coaches getting in the surf was an absolute highlight 😂🌊
I’m truly grateful to be part of the Blaze family. ❤️

Joining the Blaze family has been such an incredible experience. From day one, I’ve been surrounded by talented, hardworking, and genuinely supportive people who made it feel like home straight away.
Pulling on the new colours for the first time was a moment of pure pride and excitement and starting this new chapter just feels right.
The thing I’ve noticed about the club is how close everyone is. No matter what team you’re in, you’re made to feel valued and included. The playing group and staff have been amazing in helping me settle in — everything just gels, and the encouragement is constant.
Something people might not always see from the outside is the huge amount of behind-the-scenes work from coaches and Blaze staff to run the program and set us up for the best possible season.
My best highlight so far would have to be Induction Day and the club surfing session — plenty of laughs and great team bonding.
One month in I’m feeling proud, grateful, and so excited for what’s ahead with the Blaze family 🔥
