I have had a dream for the South Coast region to have a team in Netball NSW Premier League since the inception of Premier League in 2016. Illawarra District Netball Association alone had lost far too many talented players to Sydney based Associations over the years and since Premier League began, it became worse. I made some enquiries with the Illawarra Academy of Sport and local business people and reached out to Illawarra, Kiama and Shoalhaven Netball Associations and the rest is history.
South Coast Blaze has captured the very spirit of the South Coast region and is providing a wonderful opportunity to South Coast athletes and I am super proud to have played my part in making that dream come to fruition with the birth of South Coast Blaze 2020.
More about Michele
Michele started the Norths Netball Club back in 1978. Since then, she has coached and managed many Illawarra District Netball Association teams over may years, and is a life member of Norths Netball Club. She was formally the co-ordinator of the #OurBlaze Talent Identification Program which she instigated and saw to fruition. She is now an independent board member and provides Assistance to our successful TIP program. Michele bring a wealth of experience and valuable connections to the Blaze, and is an invaluable member of the franchise.

Your favourite sporting hero and why
I have a multitude of sporting heroes. Kerryn McCann was definitely a number one. She was a personal friend and we (my family) were heavily involved with her progress from the time she was ten year old.
Something on your bucket list
I would love to return to Paris and visit the neighbourhood of St Michel and Pigalle.
