Thank you, Taylah & Katelyn!
#ourblaze no.1, Taylah Davies and no.11 Katelyn Anderson are calling time on their career in the red dress, with both foundation players departing from the club in 2024. Both Taylah and Katelyn have been incredible leaders for our Open’s team and the broader Blaze franchise over the past years.
A few words from Katelyn on her retirement:
“I couldn’t have dreamed of a better club to finish my netball career at. Being a foundation player and lucky enough to lead this phenomenal team has been the perfect way to wrap up my time at this level of netball.
This club that is more like a family has given me some of my nearest and dearest friends and I’ll be forever grateful for my time in the red dress”
A few words from Taylah on her retirement:
“My netball journey began at the age of 8, with @norths_netball and later, representing @illawarranetball . I then played for many Sydney teams, competing in the State League (now known as Premier League), only to return full circle and conclude my career at South Coast Blaze, back home.
Wearing the red Blaze dress has been a privilege for both my family and me. I hope it serves as an inspiration for young girls in Illawarra, nurturing dreams of one day wearing the same dress.
Blaze has become more than just a club; it’s a tight-knit family, and I’m immensely proud of our shared journey.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my coaches, teammates, support staff, and everyone who has been part of our club’s support network throughout my netball career.
I am eagerly looking forward to watching the next generation of Blaze players as they step onto the court”
An inspiration to so many young netballers from the South Coast & beyond, they will be deeply missed by the entire Blaze family. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter has in store for both these girls.
Valued Always. #OurBlaze
