South Coast Blaze appoints U23s Head Coach

South Coast Blaze is pleased to announce that Regan Tweddle has been appointed as Head Coach of the South Coast Blaze Premier League 2020 U23s netball team.

Coming to South Coast Blaze from the UTS Sparks Premier League U23s team, where she has been Head Coach since the Netball NSW Premier League’s inception, Tweddle brings a wealth of experience and success to the Blaze. She led their U20s side to a Grand Final in 2016, and a Premier League Championship Title in 2017 and placed 3rd in this year’s competition.

Tweddle’s coaching knowledge comes from an extensive playing and coaching history with Illawarra District Netball Association, the Illawarra Academy of Sport and the NSW Academy of Sport (currently NSWIS). She is passionate and excited at the opportunity to build an exceptional U23s program for athletes at the South Coast Blaze.

“The opportunity to bring her coaching talents home to the South Coast was an opportunity too good to refuse!” said John Armstrong, coaching selector and CEO of the Illawarra Academy of Sport.

“The South Coast Blaze are extremely excited to have Regan on board. Congratulations Regan!”

Along with newly appointed Open’s Head Coach Marj Parr, and South Coast Blaze Ambassador, Committee Member former and Australian Diamonds player, Susan Pettitt, Regan Tweddle completes the selection committee for the upcoming player trials for the Blaze.

Player applications have been extended and will now close Monday 7th October 2019, at 10pm. Players interested in trialling can submit their details online at http://bit.ly/SCBplayer.
