Renee Dunn joins IMB South Coast Blaze as U23s Apprentice Coach
IMB South Coast Blaze is delighted to welcome new U23s Apprentice Coach Renee Dunn to #OurBlaze family.
Renee joins experienced U23s Head Coach Regan Tweddle and Assistant Coach Jennie Webster. Renee has three years of representative coaching under her belt, including roles with Blacktown City Netball Association, GWS Fury Pathways team and most recently as a Trainee Coach with the Western Sydney Academy of Sport.
Renee said she’s excited to join an energetic, skilful and determined netball franchise.
“I am looking forward to seeing what I can add to the team this year, but I am also excited to have the opportunity to be a part of this strong culture,” she said.
Renee’s history as a defence on the court and her experience as a defensive coach with the Western Sydney Academy of Sport program and GWS Fury Pathways team will add more strength to the IMB South Coast Blaze coaching staff in 2022.
Renee said she’s looking forward to having U23s Head Coach Regan Tweddle and Assistant Coach Jennie Webster as coaching mentors.
“Regan and Jennie are both highly respected coaches from all areas of netball,” she said.
“From this season, I hope to take away a broader understanding of game analysis and structuring training sessions for high-performance environments.”
Renee enjoys coaching because it allows her to think strategically and creatively.
“I enjoy the satisfaction that comes from teaching athletes a new skill and then watching them execute that skill throughout a game or develop it further to make it their own.”
U23s Head Coach, Regan Tweddle, welcomes Renee to her coaching team.
“Renee is an exciting up and coming specialist coach who has joined the IMB South Coast Blaze U23s coaching panel for the 2022 season. Her calm demeanour, willingness to make a difference and defensive knowledge are a great asset to our club and the U23s’ squad. Jennie, Lisa & I are thrilled to have Renee join us as she already has the qualities required to build a strong connection with both the coaches and the athletes, and knows the importance of building a successful team environment.“
Welcome again, Renee!
